FELLOWSHIP- Public Interest Law Initiative, Columbia Law School
The Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) at Columbia Law School is now
accepting applications for its 2004-2006 Public Interest Law Fellowship Program
PILI has just opened its application process for its 2004-2006 Public
Interest Law Fellowship Program. The program selects practicing lawyers
from Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, the Caucasus and Central Asia for
two years of study and practical work experience. The first year is spent
in New York at Columbia University School of Law, where the Fellows take
part in non-degree study and intern with leading human rights and public
interest organizations. Fellows spend the second year of the program
working for the protection of human rights and the promotion of public
interest law in their home countries at local non-governmental organizations.
Applications to the Public Interest Law Fellowship Program will be accepted
until April 1st, 2004, and selection of Fellows will be made by May 1st,
2004. The fellowships will start in August 2004.
