Last Saturday, a man was murdered at the Detention Center of the General Authority for Implementing Court Decisions, where he shared a cell with six other Mongolian men.
According to Onoodor, the seven men got into an argument around 13:00pm, resulting in the death of B.Batdorj. The Bayanzurkh District Police Department (BDPD) brought a criminal charge of suspected group murder against the six inmates.
It was confirmed that the men were all inebriated at the time of the murder. They had paid one of the guards to purchase food and vodka from outside the detention center, giving him money for the expenses plus a bribe of Tg500.
Batdorj had been detained on a charge of hooliganism, under the criminal code of the BDPD. His body was sent to the forensic hospital for autopsy.
The newspaper also claimed that when the detention center was under the direct administration of the General Police Department, the guards had been known to regularly take bribes.
Allowing prisoners to meet relatives or take weekend leave, for a fee, were common actions among guards. But, they report, such events continue to transpire under the administration of the General Authority for Implementing Court Decisions. Top
